PETITION FOR SUPPORTING DOG PARKS IN FUENGIROLA!
Every year both us owners and dogs themselves receive a lot of accusations for dog droppings and for the fact that dogs are walked in "wrong" places.
The Mayoress of Fuengirola, members of municipal council and even the municipal gardeners are criticizing us dog owners with harsh words whilst simultaneously
contemplating of finding a magic trick by which dog owners could be educated and turned into cleverer people so that they wouldn´t take their dogs to
inappropriate areas to do their necessities. All this is very understandable, but looking at the reverse side of the coin one can ask:
"Where an earth can you take your dog for a walk since not-welcome signs and penalty threats are everywhere?" Us dog owners simply do not have places
in Fuengirola, where we could take our dogs out without a worry of doing so!
There is an easy solution to the problem and it is called a Dog Park! The purpose of this petition is to collect a large enough list of names from everyone concerned with this problem and from those who agree on the fact that instead of complaining, the city of Fuengirola needs to start to do tangible measures in order to rectify the matter and offer enough Dog Parks of sufficient size to the enjoyment of both the owners and their dogs.
Dog Parks must be fenced all around and equipped with necessary number of trash cans into where the dog droppings can be placed by the owners. If possible,
size of the area permitting, the Park should be divided into two areas; the other part for smaller dogs and the rest of it for larger dog breeds.
The purpose of a Dog Park is to enable the dogs to run and move about in the area so a mere 10m2 defecation spot is of no use to any dog,
so the recommendation for a minimum size ought to be at least 200m2.
